Real in Ursynow is the Market of the Year 2010
Real hypermarket in Ursynow shopping center was awarded the title „Market of the Year 2010” in the second edition of the contest organized by the retail monthly „Wiadomości Handlowe” (“Retail News”).
Independent jury of retail specialists, trade organizations representatives and scientists nominated each three shops in 5 formats: small (sales space under 40 sq. meters), middle (41-100 sq. meters) and big (101 – 300 sq. m.), as well as supermarkets (1000 – 2500 sq. m.) and hypermarkets. Apart from the store in Ursynow, another two Real stores were nominated: hypermarket in Szczecin Galaxy shopping center and in Wrocław.
The final notes were influenced by the following criteria: financial results of a store, direct competition, price politics, special activities in customer service as well as trainings and motivation systems of the employees. The nominated stores were visited by the contest auditors who talked to store managers and observed the organizational solutions of each store. Some stores were also presented in the magazine.
“The interest in the contest was very high – there were a couple of hundred applications, from which 80 shops were qualified to the final” – said the editor, Paweł Kapuściński, congratulating the winners.
Jury’s acknowledgement in the category of hypermarkets was gained by Real in Ursynow, the biggest Real store in Poland with sales space of 13 600 sq. meters and 360 employees. The store opened in July 1997 and was also the first one to be remodeled according to the new concept of the chain in September 2009.
Kef van Helbergen, Managing Director of Real in Poland, is really proud of the title: “In this edition, three our stores took part in the contest. I’m particularly proud of the fact that it’s Real in Ursynow, our model store, that was distinguished this time”.
